Langley Fine Arts School

Langley Fine Arts School is a Kindergarten to Grade 12 school at 9096 Trattle Street in Fort Langley, built around the arts, and open to families across the Langley School District. Entry is by application and, when seats run short, a random draw. A Fort Langley address earns no extra priority. Living in the district does.

What the school is

The district describes a school community of Kindergarten to Grade 12 learners. Younger students try a broad range of the arts. In the upper grades they work toward one. The disciplines listed are visual arts, literary arts, dance, drama and music, and the school’s own pages add photography and writing.

How admission works

  • When: for Kindergarten, applications open at noon on the first Monday in October of the year before the child starts, for two weeks. Applications for September 2027 have closed.
  • How many: a family may name up to two choice programs.
  • Priority: siblings of district-resident students in the program, then district-resident students, then siblings of non-resident students, then non-residents.
  • The draw: if more families apply than there are seats, a random draw follows that priority order. The district expects to hold it in November.
  • The answer: a family has 48 hours (two business days) to accept an offer. An unsuccessful applicant goes on a waitlist.
  • Other grades: a child already in school applies through the school’s online form and joins the waitlist.

Before you buy near the school

A Fort Langley address does not move an application up the list. The rule that favours residents looks at the district, so a family already in Langley has the same standing in Walnut Grove or Willoughby as in the village.

The cost that an address does change is the daily trip. The district provides no bus to choice programs. Add that to the weight of a Kindergarten to Grade 12 commitment, and the drive to Trattle Street at drop-off time is worth testing before you offer.
