Routley is a neighbourhood of Willoughby in the Township of Langley. The Township's boundary runs from about 68 to 74 Avenue and from 196 to 200 Street. In everyday conversation "Routley" blurs into the wider Willoughby slope, but the boundary is tighter than the colloquial use suggests. In the Township's parcel data, 1,410 parcels fall inside it: about 73% are in detached zones (a median of about 3,900 square feet in the R-CL zone), and 357 are in comprehensive development zones.

Routley Park, at 19833 70 Avenue, is the day-to-day social anchor: 8.2 acres with a designated off-leash dog area, tennis and basketball courts, a ball diamond, and a community garden. For shopping and services, most residents head to Willoughby Town Centre (around 208 Street and 80 Avenue), anchored by Hakam's Your Independent Grocer and a Shoppers Drug Mart, with Mattu's Coffee & Tea among the cafés.

For schools, all of Routley is in the R.E. Mountain Secondary catchment (7633 202A Street) on the district's maps. About three-quarters of the boundary is in Langley Meadows Elementary's catchment and about one-quarter in Donna Gabriel Robins Elementary's. By transit, Willowbrook Station, at the north-east corner of 196 Street and Fraser Highway, is about 1.4 kilometres from the nearest edge of Routley and 2.0 kilometres from its middle; the project gives late 2029 as the anticipated in-service date. No part of Routley is within 800 metres. The Willoughby Transit Corridor Plan (Bylaw 6202, adopted June 15, 2026) proposes a bus rapid transit line on 200 Street with a smaller hub at 72 Avenue, and expects no significant redevelopment in the neighbourhoods around it.

Bill 44 small-scale multi-unit housing (SSMUH) applies. Township Bylaw 6020 (adopted November 18, 2024) permits up to four units on a serviced lot under 4,050 square metres (43,594 sq ft) that is not heritage-designated. Both the R-CL and R-1A medians in Routley are well under that size; servicing, heritage status and the zone still need checking, and comprehensive development zones follow their own bylaws.

All of Routley is in the R.E. Mountain Secondary catchment (7633 202A Street, grades 9 to 12) on School District 35's maps. About three-quarters of the boundary is in Langley Meadows Elementary's catchment and about one-quarter in Donna Gabriel Robins Elementary's, by land area.
