Day-to-day amenity concentrates around Town Centre Park: 42 hectares (103 acres) around Lafarge Lake, with Percy Perry Stadium, sports fields, ball diamonds and tennis courts inside it. The City Centre Aquatic Complex and the Evergreen Cultural Centre stand beside it, and the Lakeside Loop around the lake is 1.2 km.
Each winter the City runs Lights at Lafarge in the park, which it calls Metro Vancouver's largest free outdoor winter lights display. Coquitlam Centre, the shopping centre, is a separate place from the City Centre planning area around it.
