The Fraser Valley Real Estate Board (FVREB) is one of 11 regional real estate boards in BC, with member realtors licensed to access the FVREB Multiple Listing Service (MLS) within its geographic territory: Surrey, Langley (City + Township), North Delta, White Rock, Abbotsford, and Mission. FVREB is a member-owned not-for-profit governed by the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) and the British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA) frameworks; it is not a government regulator (the BC Financial Services Authority handles licensee regulation).
For buyers and sellers, the FVREB matters primarily as the source of two things: (1) the monthly HPI Composite Benchmark numbers that drive market reports for the Fraser Valley submarket, and (2) the MLS data feed that powers IDX websites and listing searches inside the FVREB territory. Cross-board transactions (e.g., a Surrey home listed by an FVREB-member realtor purchased by a buyer with a GVR-member realtor) operate under standard cross-board cooperation rules.
